Toyota Yaris: Let Gadget & Slick Write The Rhymes!

Feature in your own personalised 'shout out', performed by Yaris ad stars Gadget & Slick.
Toyota Yaris is offering fans the unique opportunity to create their own pop video, featuring a 'shout out' rap written and performed especially for them.

Between 12th and 14th January, fans can submit an answer to the question 'What has life thrown at you today?' via Toyota's Facebook page (www.facebook.com/toyotauk), or on Twitter via#OutsmartLIVE. The best answers will be transformed into a bespoke video, performed exclusively by 'Gadget' the rapper, and his puppet compatriot, 'Slick', stars of the recent Toyota Yaris TV commercial 'Gadget Guy'. These 'shout outs' will be broadcasted live on Facebook and YouTube.

The 'Outsmart Shout Out' activity is the next part of 'The Smart Money's on Yaris' campaign that began in August this year which promoted Yaris' dynamic and smart personality. The creative was developed by leading ad agency Saatchi & Saatchi. The 'Outsmart Shout Out' follows the 'Social Snap Shot' Facebook activity that went live in mid September. Both of these activities are designed to allow fans to interact with Toyota online in a fun and personal way that is shareable with their friends.

Lisa Fielden, Toyota Brand and Digital Marketing Manager said: 'The 'Gadget Guy' TV commercial has been a big hit for all new Yaris. With 'Shout Out', we want to do something fun, creative and of the moment'.

Andy Jex, Deputy Creative Director at Saatchi & Saatchi said: "They say never work with children and animals - surely puppets and cartoons are up there too? It's a daunting and exciting proposition. Hopefully the pair of them have the ability to pull it off. If they do - they can expect a call from Jim Henson or Pixar!"

How to get involved

Toyota are accepting entries via their Facebook page (www.facebook.com/toyotauk) or Twitter (using #OutsmartLIVE) from 5th January. The best answers will be made into personalised music videos, and broadcast on Facebook and Youtube from 12th January. The entrants who have videos created for them will receive a personal link as soon as it is broadcast.
