Horse Aquarium - Stripped-down comedy improv at the Leicester Square Theatre

The stars of Horse Aquarium
Horse Aquarium is an off-beat comedy improv show starring three of London’s most experienced spontaneous comedians. Tomy Salinsky wrote the book on improvisation – it’s called The Improv Handbook and you can buy it on Amazon.

Briony Redman is the star of the sketch circuit favourite Bronya and Siony. And Paul Foxcroft is already using rudimentary tools.

In this freewheeling show, they turn three audience suggestions into sixty minutes of comedy. No gimmicks, no games. Just improv.

There are just three shows in this run, all at the Leicester Square Theatre, 6 Leicester Place, London WC2H 7BX

Bar Sport comes to the UK

Scott Murray, Harry
and Neelam Dass
The only UK owned American style sports bar has opened its newest venue at the Waterside, Merry Hill in the West Midlands with a VIP evening. The new opening is creating over 30 new jobs.

Bar Sport’s HQ is based in Cannock, Staffordshire and the Company was established by local entrepreneur, Scott Murray. The Company has plans to open over 8 new franchised outlets by year's end, with longer term plans to open in every town and city in the entire UK. Next on the list is Ipswich, scheduled to open in September.

Bar Sport Merry Hill is owned and run by Harry Dass from nearby Dudley. Harry is known to many as the former presenter on an Asian Radio station. He is a keen sportsman himself with a love of cricket, rugby and football.

Each bar is decorated throughout with authentic sports memorabilia and the venues feature over 50 screens showing live sport all day and into the evening, too.

Mr Murray said: “We are delighted to be opening another Bar Sport right here in the Midlands. Waterside in Brierley Hill is a perfect location for us as the area has such a strong sporting fan base. We are pleased to be doing our bit for the regeneration of this particular area and we wish Harry and his staff well.

"We all know that pubs and other venues are having a tough time. To be successful, you have to be offering the public more than just food and drink. The reaction to Bar Sport elsewhere shows that we have a winning formula, with large crowds turning out. We offer fun, sporting excitement and good food and drink in a safe family orientated environment.

"We plan to open 8 new outlets across the Country by the end of the year with the next opening being in Ipswich in September, then London. Openings are also planned in Glasgow and Exeter.

These will be franchised outlets run by their owners and in tune with local taste. They will have been fully trained and supported by our Head Office staff.

We are aiming ultimately to open a Bar Sport in every major town and city in the UK. Each bar will have regular visits from sporting heroes such as football stars, boxing champions and many more. We would like to thank the staff of Westfield, the property company that owns Merry Hill for helping us to make this launch possible.”

GetMeIn’s Fan Guard Returns Confidence Back To The Online Ticket Market

GetSafeOnline has released figures that show that one in ten people have been a victim of online ticketing scamming and with August seeing an increase in people searching for tickets online; this figure is likely to rise.

With 52% of consumers preferring to buy tickets on the internet, online ticketing marketplace - GET ME IN! is reminding customers that by purchasing concert tickets from GET ME IN! they receive benefits such as the 150% Fan Guard Guarantee.

GetMeIn.com is part of Ticketmaster and provides a safe, guaranteed way for people to buy and sell tickets online through a safe channel. With its 150% ‘Fan Guard’ policy, GET ME IN! guarantees all purchases; including last minute ones, which ensures that:

• Customers will be notified when tickets have been dispatched
• Customer tickets will be dispatched in time for the event
• Customers will be refunded if the event is cancelled and not rescheduled

Despite these assurances, a huge number of people still opt to purchase tickets from less reputable sites, leaving themselves open to the possibility of being conned. This month the city of London police, along with the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau had to open an investigation after a suspected scam risked hundreds of fans not getting their tickets in time for a Dolly Parton gig in Scotland.

Detective Chief Superintendent Steve Head who runs the City of London Police's Economic Crime Directorate, said: "The lag time between purchasing and receiving tickets is the major issue. It allows web-savvy fraudsters to set-up professional looking sites to lure fans in. We are working with the ticketing industry to stop these criminals in their tracks; ensuring tickets are sent out as soon as possible, rather than just before an event. Doing this should have a significant and lasting impact on this crime."

Ratnesh Shah, Head of Marketing at GET ME IN! says: “People need to be able to sell unwanted tickets online in a safe and trusted environment. In order to ease consumer fears, GET ME IN! introduced The Fan Guard promise. Guaranteeing all purchases with a 100% cash back promise and an offer of 50% credit towards any future purchase lets people know that if they choose to buy tickets on GET ME IN!, they can feel safe in the knowledge that their tickets will be dispatched on time and never be left out of pocket.”

Monitor Audio bring Exceptional Value and Unbeatable Sound as Sales Soar

Every now and again a product is released which offers such tremendous value for money and performance that it becomes the benchmark by which all other manufacturers are judged.

The latest speakers from Monitor Audio are one such product, with the Monitor Audio Bronze BX2 one of the best loudspeaker products to reach the market in recent years. Whilst the quality of sound is first rate and matches that of many high end speakers, what sets these speakers aside from the competition is the price, with the Monitor Audio BX2 speakers available for under £300, and even as low as £225 a pair at Cheshire based Doug Brady HiFi.

“The Monitor Audio Bronze BX2 5.1 makes for a breathtaking audio visual experience as part of a home cinema system, and reproduces sound with exceptional realism. They are a real budget blockbuster” says a proud Stephen Oakes, Product Manager at Doug Brady HiFi.

The Monitor Audio Bronze BX2 packs in the technology, and features numerous tweaks to the winning design to further improve performance. The updates include a 65mm C-CAM® bass mid range driver and HiVe®II port technology to increase the transit of air from the cabinet for a more dynamic bass. The Monitor Audio BX 2 also uses a new 25mm (1") C-CAM® tweeter, which provides an extended frequency response up to 30KHz.

In contrast to previous Monitor Audio models, the mid base driver is bolted to the back of the cabinet leaving the front uncluttered for a crisp and clean look, best appreciated without the magnetic grille. However the aesthetics of the design are secondary to the improvement in performance which the new design offers, as the absence of extra screws helps to reduce vibrations to produce an ultra crisp and clear sound across the full range of frequencies.

The Monitor Audio BX2 series has improved crossover, and is capable of providing an excellent stereo image even in a room of limited space. The loudspeakers function perfectly well up against a wall or on a bookshelf, although for the full effect it pays to give the speakers a little room to breathe and mount them on high quality stands. It is the flexibility that the speakers offer which is part of the appeal, making them suitable for most home audio setups, even when space is limited.

For anyone working to a tight budget, there is little comparison for under £300, something which has not been lost on Doug Brady HiFi customers, with sales of the Monitor Audio Bronze BX2 soaring both online and at their flagship Cheshire store.

“We believe the Monitor Audio Bronze BX2 is the best buy under £300, but we like to put our money where our mouth is, and offer our customers the chance to find out for themselves in our Hi-Fi demonstration rooms. We are sure that after hearing the quality of the sound few will argue that the Monitor Audio Bronze BX2 price is nothing short of exceptional for the quality provided.” says Oakes

DoubBrady HiFi has increased stocks of its Black, Walnut, Rosemah and Natural Oak vinyl wood-finish speakers to cope with current demand, with the speakers now available direct from its website with free UK delivery.
